Midtown St. Louis (KSDK)- A two alarm fire at the Heritage House senior living community in the 2800 block of Olive Street caused extensive damage to the ground level and forced the evacuation of more than 100 people early today.
Firefighters responded to the high-rise apartment building around 1:00 a.m. and found a ground floor restaurant engulfed in fire.
The 19 story complex houses more than 200 residents according to fire officials who said the first three floors were evacuated and there were no injuries reported, although several residents were evaluated outside the building.
A cause for the blaze has not been determined at this point in the investigation.
