St. Louis, MO (KSDK)- A teenage girl is hospitalized after she was struck by a stray bullet, fired while she was watching fireworks outside a north St. Louis home.
Officials say the unidentified 14 year old was enjoying the evening fireworks just after 10:00 Wednesday night outside a home in the 4400 block of Evans Avenue when she felt pain in her back.
Friends assisted the injured girl and took her to the hospital where doctors located a bullet had struck the victim in her back.
Police have not identified where the bullet was fired from and are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-866-371-TIPS.
Although the teenager's condition was not immediately known, she is expected to survive.
