St. Louis (KSDK) -  A home being rehabbed in north St. Louis will need a lot more work than originally planned after fire raged through the building in the 4500 block of Kennerly Avenue early Tuesday.

Firefighters responded to the fire scene at Kennerly and Cora around 2:00 Tuesday morning and found heavy fire and smoke coming from the home.

The fire was spreading throughout the multiple story building and caught two neighboring homes that were both vacant ablaze as well.

No injuries were reported, although a dog that was chained inside one of the vacant homes that caught fire was rescued safely by firefighters.

No cause for the fire has been determined at this time and a dollar estimate on damage was not available.
