St. Louis (KSDK) - The St. Louis Fire Department recovered a body in the Mississippi River Thursday night.
The call came in around 8:30 p.m. when a barge worker thought he saw a body between two barges near the old Slay Terminal, about one mile south of Chouteau Avenue.
Authorities launched two boats into the river, and a body was located shortly before 9 p.m.
Police say the body appears to have been in the water for quite some time, and the gender could not be determined.
