St. Louis (KSDK) - A chaotic scene Sunday night in front of Hooters in downtown St. Louis.

A police vehicle with license scanning software got a report of a possible stolen vehicle in the area of Tucker and Chestnut around 10:00 p.m.

The officer turned on his lights and attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver took off at a high rate of speed.

As the driver of the stolen car was fleeing from police, he lost control of the vehicle several blocks away, striking three cars and crashing outside Hooters.

All three subjects in the stolen car tried to get away, but police caught up with the two passengers.  The driver was able to escape.
