St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department will apply for warrants Monday against a 45-year-old man suspected of posing as a police officer in order to sexually assault a woman.
According to David Marzullo, a police spokesman, the incident occurred July 12 around 7 p.m.
The victim, 27, told police that the suspect approached her, flashed a badge and claimed he was a St. Louis County police officer, and put her handcuffs. She said the man took her behind a building in the 4200 block of Gustine Avenue and sexually assaulted her.
Marzullo said police did not find a badge in the suspect's vehicle or residence.
The suspect's name is expected to be released once charges are filed with prosecutors.
