St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - Friends and family are continuing their efforts to raise money and solicit healing prayers for a St. Louis native who was the victim of a vicious chimpanzee attack in South Africa.
Andrew Oberle was attacked earlier this month while leading a tour group at the Jane Goodall Institute when two chimps pulled him under a security fence. He was rushed to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for a broken arm and torn ligaments. Oberle lost some fingers and toes in the attack and remains in a medically induced coma.
The Andrew Oberle Medical Support Fund fund was established through US Bank to assist the Oberle family cover expenses.
