O'Fallon, MO (KSDK) - After seven months in the hospital for surgery due to a brain tumor, 15-year-old Samuel Taylor, a freshman at St. Dominic High School, returned home Wednesday afternoon.

Friends and family lined the streets near the intersection of Mexico Road and Pinehurst View. They held signs. They stood around and waited.

And when the van transporting Sam arrived, they cheered.

In his parents' garage, Sam sat in his wheelchair and posed for a picture with his parents and siblings. Granted, the family portrait is changing, but Sam's mother sees the big picture.

"Just happy we're all together," said Lisa Taylor. "And just thrilled he's with us again after seven months."
