Westlake, OH (WJW/CNN) - The erotic "Fifty Shades" triology may have sparked interest with women everywhere.

But two Cleveland radio hosts aren't burning with desire to read the racy best-sellers.

Instead, the pair set the novels ablaze at a book burning party Wednesday.

The DJs say the poor writing prompted the event at a local restaurant, which drew close to 50 people.

"This is giving voice to the people who think it's a piece of garbage," said WMMS DJ Alan Cox.

"Men can't live up to this book, and it becomes an issue. They're more interested in this, and go to bed alone," said another WMMS DJ, Chad Zumock.

The DJs say the book burning was done in good fun.

The "Fifty Shades" books are flying off the shelves, selling over 20 million copies in the US alone and parking in the top three slots on USA Today's Best-Selling Books list.

Some adult store owners are saying the scandalous read has even led to a spike in sales of sex toys like those described in the books.
