St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - Forensic psychologist Dr. John Rabun has worked with the FBI and other law enforcement to aid in criminal profiling.
NewsChannel 5 contacted Dr. Rabun and asked him to talk about some of the characteristics he's observed with mass shooters and to give us insight about James Holmes, the alleged Colorado theater shooter.
Among his comments: "Those individuals tend to be higher functioning people in society, though they may be loners. They may not have come to the attention of mental health authorities before this point in time...They may not have even come to the attention of police, though some may have a criminal background. They are individuals that live on the fringe. Often have difficulty with social contact, for example dating or with marriage."
