St. Robert, MO (KSDK) -   A Pulaski County deputy is credited with finding and helping an injured woman who had fallen inside her home over the weekend, and was unable to get up to call 911.

Sheriff J.B. King tells News Channel 5 the 72 year old woman was on the floor of her St. Robert home, about three hours west of St. Louis when a Deputy Beth Kelly heard her cries for help.

Deputy Kelly was at the location to try and remove a stray horse that had wandered into a neighboring yard and would not cooperate when told to leave.

While trying to find the owner of the horse, Kelly went to the unidentified victims home and heard her faint plea for someone to help.

Kelly forced her way into the injured woman's home and contacted paramedics to help the woman and transport her to an area hospital.
