St. Louis, MO (KSDK) -- All lanes and ramps on westbound Interstate 64 between Broadway and 21st Street will close Thursday night, the Missouri Department of Transportation says.
The closures will begin at 8:30 p.m. Thursday in an effort to shift traffic onto newly resurfaced lanes.
MoDOT says two lanes will reopen by 4 a.m. the following morning.
The closures were originally scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, but were postponed because of the heat.
The detour for the closure is to take westbound I-44 to Jefferson and back to westbound I-64.
The remainder of the work will be completed during this weekend's scheduled closure of westbound I-64 between Broadway and 21st Street.
Crews will close westbound I-64 at 10 a.m. Friday and reopen the two left lanes by 5 a.m. Monday.
