Harrisburg, IL (KSDK) - Six fire departments responded to a brush fire just west of Harrisburg, Illinois Monday.
The Saline County Sheriff's Office says around 5:15 p.m. a call came in reporting a large brush fire off Lewis Road, about 2.5 miles west of Harrisburg.
The Harrisburg Fire Department responded to the call, and requested help from departments in Carrier Mills, Eldorado, Stonefort, New Burnside, and Williamson County.
The fire burned over 100 acres of grass fields, but also threatened corn and bean fields.
By 7:30 p.m. the fire was extinguished.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
