St. Louis-area students buy up school supplies

Brentwood, Mo (KSDK) -- School supplies flew off the shelves at a Brentwood Target store as children prepare to head back to school.

The Salvation Army passed out 300 $80 gift cards to school children in the St. Louis-area.

The cards could be used buying school supplies, backpacks and clothes.

The Salvation Army distributed more than 12,000 gift cards nationwide.
