London (KSDK) -- A U.S. track and field legend is in London for the Olympics, but doesn't plan to attend any of the track events.

Carl Lewis won 10 Olympic medals, including nine golds when he competed in the games from 1984 to 1996.  Sports Illustrated named him Olympian of the Century.

Lewis said he plans to spend his time in London seeing other events because he already knows so much about the track competitors.  When he was an athlete competing in the games he was not able to go to the other events.

Lewis said the key to the athletes staying calm for the games is all in the preparation.
