St. Louis (KSDK) - The City of St. Louis wants to remind the homeless to stay hydrated and get relief from the heat.

Three of the 24 people to die from the heat in the region were homeless.

The Department of Human Services has been talking to the homeless to make sure they're staying safe. Additionally, the St. Patrick Center outreach team is visiting places throughout the city to hand out water and to urge the homeless to visit a cooling site.

For a list of cooling centers, click here. Those who wish to visit a cooling center should call the center to make sure they're open.
