Jefferson County, MO (KSDK) - A 2-year-old girl is being treated after nearly drowning in her family's pool.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Department says EMS were called to a home in the 11000 block of Highway WW Saturday.
The girl's parents reported they were packing a moving truck in front of their home when they lost track of the toddler. They reported immediately looking in the in-ground pool in the backyard to find the child unresponsive and not breathing.
The parents told authorities they called 911 and performed CPR until paramedics arrived. Rescue crews were able to revive the child and she was airlifted to Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center.
Authorities say they haven't found any evidence of negligence. The pool reportedly had a fence but investigators say the gate was not secured.
We're told the child is not believed to have been in the water for very long because one of her parents reported seeing her moments before finding her in the pool.
