East Alton, IL (KSDK) - An overnight fire in East Alton has damaged a rent to own business.

Firefighters were called around midnight to Aaron's Rentals in the 600 block of West St. Louis where they were greeted by heavy smoke coming from the operation which is located in a strip mall setting.

The extent of damage to the business was not immediately known, but fire officials say neighboring businesses were not impacted by the fire.

The incident reached three alarm status to assist with rotating crews at the scene.

The business was closed at the time of the fire and no injuries have been reported.  No word on what caused the fire at this point.
