St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - St. Louis Police and Accident Reconstruction investigators are probing a serious accident this morning on the city's north side.
Investigators say around 7:50 a.m. Monday, 25-year-old Dareon Williams was traveling at excessive speed and made contact with a second car.
The impact sent Williams' car out of control and into a tree near the intersection of Kingshighway and St. Louis Avenue.
Williams was trapped in the wreckage and unresponsive according to police. Williams was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police say Williams was an employee of the St. Louis Department of Corrections.
