Young sisters killed in southeast Missouri accident

Kennett, MO (KSDK) - Two young sisters were killed Friday in a two vehicle crash in far southeast Missouri.

Missouri Highway Patrol troopers report six year old Brooklyn and nine year old Brittlyn Scott of Portageville, both died after the car they were riding in pulled into the path of an oncoming car on Missouri State Highway 153 north of Kennett in the Missouri boot heel.

Authorities say a one year old girl in the car; Braelyn Vires was seriously injured and airlifted to St. Louis Childrens Hospital.  28 year old Jamie Vires was driving the car with the three children and she's hospitalized in St. Louis with serious injuries.

Investigators say Jamie Vires was westbound on a side road when she pulled into the path of another car headed northbound on Hwy 153.  The second car then made impact with Vires car.

Both of the children killed where pronounced dead at the crash scene just after 9:30 Friday morning.
