St. Louis, MO (KSDK) -- St. Louis police officers were involved in a shooting in south St. Louis, but the details of what happened are unclear.
St. Louis Police Captain Michael Sack said three suspects were in a vacant home in the 3900 block of South Compton around 11:20 a.m. Wednesday. An officer went into the home, so the suspects jumped out the window and ran.
Two police officers followed the trio.
One of the officers caught up with one of the suspects and they got into an altercation. The suspect reached for the officer's gun and the officer tried to grab it too. That's when the gun went off, according to Captain Sack.
It was unclear who pulled the trigger.
The suspect was shot in the shoulder.
Police said no officers were injured.
