Dameion Dorsey charged in officer-involved shooting case

St. Louis (KSDK) -- The St. Louis Circuit Attorney's Office filed charges in a police officer-involved shooting.

Dameion Dorsey was charged with first-degree burglary, attempt theft/stealing, resisting/interfering with arreswt an attempt disarming a peace officer while performing offical duty.

Dorsey's bond is not yet available.

St. Louis Police Captain Michael Sack said three suspects were in a vacant home in the 3900 block of South Compton around 11:20 a.m. Wednesday. An officer went into the home, so the suspects jumped out the window and ran.

Two police officers followed the trio.

One of the officers caught up with Dorsey and they got into an altercation. The suspect reached for the officer's gun and the officer tried to grab it too. That's when the gun went off, according to Captain Sack.

The suspect was shot in the shoulder.

Police said no officers were injured in the officer-involved shooting.
