St. Louis (KSDK) - "It fulfills me when I know that I have helped a child," said Gwen Buggs.
And helping children is something Gwen has special experience in. She has opened her home to 15 foster children, including Kianna, who is looking for a forever family, and Jasmine, who is now living independently with a family of her own.
"A lot of times they feel like no one loves them, no one cares, so what the heck," said Gwen.
So Gwen gives kids like Kianna a place to find structure, a place to become grounded.
"And most of all they can find out that someone cares and they can start caring about themselves," she said.
It's a job that takes a big heart, and in the end, make a big difference.
"If you have a place in your home and you can open your door and let a child come in, then give them a chance. You know, try to make a difference in their lives," she said. "It fulfills me when I know that I have helped a child."
