State Park, IL (KSDK) - An early Monday crash on Collinsville Road at Kingshighway, just off Illinois Route 111 remains under investigation.

The crash occurred around 3:45 a.m. Monday and at least one person was seriously injured and transported to a St. Louis hospital.

Preliminary indications suggest the car involved in the accident crashed into a concrete support on the side of the road.  The victim and another person in the vehicle were trapped in the wreckage for a time.

No word at the time as to what caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
