Wadsworth, OH (WEWS/CNN) - A man wanted in connection with the murder of his ex-girlfriend was arrested at an Ohio motel Wednesday.
A combination of U.S. Marshals tracking Nate Summerfield and a tip led authorities to Summerfield's motel room in Wadsworth. He's expected to be extradited to North Carolina to face charges in the murder of his ex-girlfriend Lynn Jackenheimer.
Authorities say Summerfield killed Jackenheimer while they were on vacation in the Outer Banks in July.
"It's a very serious crime. He's been on the run. He knows he's been wanted. So there's all kinds of inherent risk in an operation like that. But fortunately, nobody was hurt and he was taken into custody with uh no incident," said Chief Randy Reinke.
Summerfield is currently in the Medina County Jail.
