Madison County, IL (KSDK) - A man who barricaded himself inside a home in unincorporated Pontoon Beach, has been taken into custody.

The unidentified man was apprehended by police without further incident just before 4:00 a.m. Friday.  Authorities say they lost contact with the man and made the decision to enter the home.

That's when authorities found the man passed out inside the house.

Shirlwin Drive was blocked at Arlington Road at the entrance to the Arlington Heights subdivision as the SWAT team worked to get the man to come out.

Authorities said it started because the man was angry about a domestic situation and fired shots inside the home.  There were two other people at the time.  They were able to leave the home unharmed.

Illinois State Police have taken over command of the incident.
