St. Louis (KSDK) -- A non-profit organization that mentors and educates young women in the St. Louis-area received help from the state of Missouri.
Governor Jay Nixon outlined $69,631 in Youth Opportunities Program tax credits for Girls, Inc while visiting the organization's St. Louis educational center Friday.
The tax incentives will allow the organization to solicit donors while offering them the incentive of having 50 percent of their donation returns to them in the form of state tax credits.
Girls Incorporated teaches women between the ages of 5-18 with financial literacy, reading, science and employment readiness.
Earlier this year, the organization expanded its after school program to help serve more young people.
