St. Louis (KSDK) - An update on the St. Louisan attacked by chimpanzees in South Africa is expected Thursday.

Andrew Oberle was recently transferred to Saint Louis University Hospital.

Oberle was pulled under a fence and dragged about a half mile while giving a tour at the Jane Goodall Institute's Eden Sanctuary back in June. Realatives say he lost both ears, his left arm, and toes.

The chief of plastic and reconstructive surgery will have an update on his medical condition and recovery Thursday morning, and Oberle's mother is expected to read a statement.
