St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - What started as a civil dispute over a home resulted in significant property damage after an unidentified person on a bulldozer ripped through the back side of a home in the Hamilton Heights neighborhood.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, the incident unfolded in the 1300 block of Clara Avenue Wednesday night. Police said a domestic dispute apparently spurred the culprit to drive the bulldozer through an alley behind the property, plow through a fence, mow down a deck and guide the huge bulldozer into the rear of the structure.
The three story brick home sustained significant damage, but the family inside escaped without injury.
The bulldozer pummeled a large portion of the home, tossing bricks and mortar through the yard. Power to the home was also interrupted after the bulldozer ran into a utility pole and snapped it in half.
Specific details over the dispute have not been released. Clean-up crews were at the home overnight, securing the damaged portion of the home and what was left of the property inside.
