St. Louis (KSDK) - St. Louis Police Chief Dan Isom says two 18-year-old men are in custody for the murder of Megan Boken.

Mayor Francis Slay and Chief isom held a press conference at 6 p.m. Thursday to update the public on the case.

Chief Isom says he cannot speak about specifics of the case, but is confident the killers of 23-year-old Boken are in custody. They plan to present the case to the circuit attorney's office Friday for charges.

He says the investigation continues, and they will look into the possibility of other crimes in the area could be connected to the suspects.

It is unclear if the Boken family has been notified of the arrests.

Chief Isom says police still believe robbery was the motive behind the crime, and that Boken did not know the suspects.

Boken was fatally shot Saturday in the Central West End near the intersection of N. Taylor and Maryland.

$31,000 reward was offered for the arrest and conviction of the responsible parties. Chief Isom says he cannot say at this time if they received a tip that may be eligible for the reward.

Megan's father, Paul Boken, released the following statement Thursday:

"I understand that the St Louis Police Department apprehended several suspects in this case. We are gratified with the progress in this case and with the efforts of the St Louis Police Department. We also are very appreciative of the efforts of several people in the Central West End who came to our daughter Megan's aid after the incident. I would like to thank the St Louis Police Department for their hard work and those individuals who have come forward to assist in this case.

"I would like to thank the communities of St Michael's Catholic Church, St Francis High School and Saint Louis University who have been so supportive of our family over the last several days. The services for our daughter took place simultaneously in Wheaton, Illinois at St Michael's and at Saint Louis University, and were of great comfort to our family."
