Black Mountain, NC (WLOS/CNN) - A North Carolina doctor and her husband are missing.

They never returned this week from a vacation.

Investigators searched the couple's home in Henderson County Thursday, but say nothing appears out of place.

Doctor Leslie Cargile's medical practice in Black Mountain has been closed since Monday when she didn't report for work.

There's a note on the door telling patients the office is shut down.

The couple's son released a statement saying the family is very worried.

Detectives say it's too soon to tell whether foul play is involved in their disappearance.
