Man shot during early morning drug deal

(KSDK) - Police are investigating a shooting that happened around 5:30 a.m. near a Mobil gas station at the intersection of N. Grand and Natural Bridge in north St. Louis City.

A 27-year-old man told police he was approached by an individual looking to buy drugs.

They moved off the Mobil parking lot to conduct the drug deal.  When the man got out of his car to make the sale, he was shot in the groin by the prospective buyer.

The shooting suspect was driving a black Chevrolet Monte Carlo, and was armed with a semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine.
