Maryland Heights, MO (KSDK) - Craig Elementary School in the Parkway School District was put on a 25 minute lockdown after a police investigation off of school property.
Authorities say classes were just dismissing when the lockdown was put into effect at 4:05 p.m. Wednesday. Children who had not left school already were kept in the gym.
Police say a road rage incident resulted in two drivers yelling at one another on the side of a nearby road.
When officers arrived the found one of the drivers had a leg, licensed, and concealed gun in the car so as a precaution they notified the school.
The gun was not used or displayed in the incident.
The kids were released at 4:30 p.m.
There's no word on whether charges have been filed in the incident.
