St. Charles County, MO (KSDK) - The second phase of the Page Avenue extension opened Thursday at 2 p.m. to drivers in St. Charles County.

The second phase of the project from Harvester Road to Mid Rivers Mall Drive opened two months ahead of schedule.  It's a six mile stretch including four lanes in each direction between Harvester and Kisker roads and three in each direction between Kisker and Mid Rivers Mall Drive.

The first phase connected Page from Interstate 270 in Maryland Heights to Highway 94 at Jungs Station Road via a new bridge over the Missouri River.

The final phase of the Page Avenue extension project starts at Mid Rivers Mall Drive and extends to Highway 40-64 & Highway N to Lake St.louis.

The Missouri Department of Transportation plans to solicit bids this fall, hoping to have a contract in place by March of 2013.
