Ferguson, MO (KSDK) - Friday afternoon, Ferguson Police announced investigators have recovered a vehicle sought in connection to a double-murder. The white, 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix, with Missouri license plate WD4-F1U belonged to one of the victims. The car was found abandoned in Madison County, Illinois.
Police believe that car belonged to a family member of one of two women found murdered in an apartment home. Police say a loved-one found the victims after going to the apartment because he had not heard from one of them.
Police say the victims are Tasheera Johnson, 29, and Claudia Williams, 30. Investigators say the two women were found shot to death on a bedroom floor.
There was a baby in the apartment, unharmed. It happened in the 1600 block of Norlakes at Oakmont Townhome Apartments, off West Florissant Road, north of Lucas and Hunt.
"That's my daughter and I love her," said Ryponza Brimmer. She is Tasheera Johnson's mother. "And I miss her. I will always miss her. I want him to be caught."
Brimmer confirmed the baby left behind is her granddaughter.
"And left the baby sitting there," said Brimmer. "The baby is almost 2. I just want to say I hope they get him as soon as possible. And he deserves the same treatment he gave my daughter and her friend and took my child from me."
Brimmer said the crime happened at Williams' apartment home.
"Tasheera didn't live there," she said. "She just was over with a good friend of hers. And he didn't have a heart at all. He took both of their lives."
Monique Brimmer is Tasheera's sister.
"All I have to say is we really need to be careful about the company we keep," said Monique.
Police say there are no signs of forced entry at the murder scene, and this is not a robbery. Ferguson Chief Tom Jackson said they are searching for a person of interest, described as an acquaintance of one of Williams'.
