St. Charles, MO (KSDK) - One day after receiving a mobile tornado siren from a Milwaukee company, the City of St. Charles had good reason to put their new tool to good use.
The mobile tornado siren was placed near an out of service siren at 1000 Boone's Lick Road as the area deals with the remnants of Hurricane Isaac, according to the St. Charles Fire Department.
The siren can be activated remotely, like any other siren in the county.
This mobile tornado siren is one of two in the county and will be used to warn residents of severe weather or in large crowd situations involving a lost child.
