Charlotte, NC (CNN) - Boston Mayor Tom Menino took aim at Mitt Romney during his speech Wednesday night at the Democratic National Convention.
Menino said the former Massachusetts governor doesn't share the same values as Boston residents.
"Mitt Romney, he may come from Boston, but his campaign values aren't Boston values. Because in Boston we know this country didn't become great by excluding folks and leaving each other on their own. In Boston, you know what we call immigrants? Mom and Dad. You know what we call same-sex couples? Our friends, our brothers, and our sisters," said Menino.
President Obama speaks Thursday night when he formally accepts his party's presidential nomination.
Mister Obama was to make his address in a football stadium but organizers moved in indoors because of the threat of bad weather.
