Chesterfield, Mo (KSDK) -- A firefighter who battled a Chesterfield house fire was taken to an area hospital for heat exhaustion.

The firefighter battled a two-alarm fire in the 1400 block of Carriage Crossing Lane Thursday morning.

The fire gutted the main level of the home and caused extensive damage to the second floor and roof. 

The cause of the fire has not been determined.
