Pike County, MO (KSDK) -  Four of the five Pike County Detention Center inmate escapees are back in custody.

Pike County Sheriff Stephen Korte said Joseph Verive, 49, was captured on Pike 411 around 11:43 a.m. Monday. Verive told authorities he wanted to turn himself in and that he had not eaten since the jail escape Saturday.

Earlier Monday morning, Verive went to an Amish residence on Highway Y, just south of Pike 477. He told the person at the home he escaped from jail was hungry, thirsty and wanted a ride back to the jail. The home owner told Verive he had no phone or vehicle, so he left.

Verive, formerly of Elsberry, MO was jailed on a domestic assault charge.

Three of the escapees were captured overnight in a suburb of Oklahoma City.

Jacob Darnell, 22, Jason Darnell, 25, and Emanuel Chatman, 27, were taken into custody around 2 a.m. Monday. All three prisoners are from Louisiana, Missouri.

Sheriff Korte said a complaint was called into the local police that the three were asking for money near a convenience store. The three were found in a 2003 black Chevy pickup. A police K9 found a meth pipe on one of the three escapees.

Jacob Darnell was being held on charges of domestic assault and possession of controlled substance.

Jason Darnell had been moved to Pike County from the Missouri Department of Corrections to attend a hearing on a charge of failure to register as a sex offender. He was in prison for possession of a controlled substance.

Chatman was being held on a charge of domestic assault.

The Pike County Sheriff's Office discovered the men were missing after a relative of one of the escapees called to report there had been an escape Saturday night.

A review of the jail's video surveillance system showed the men exited the building by accessing a service area by removing a stainless steel shower head.

Detention Center records show the shower head was inspected on Friday and showed no damage. The jail was built in 1994 and the shower hardware was original.

William John Thomas Wilkerson, Jr., 40, of Florissant, MO is still on the run. He was being held on a charge of failure to appear on a 2008 charge of stealing anhydrous ammonia.

Anyone with information is asked to call their local law enforcement agency or the Pike County Sheriff's Office at 573-324-3202.
