WASHINGTON (KSDK) - Amtrak has set new records in ridership for 11 consecutive months of this fiscal year.
From 2002-2011, Amtrak ridership increased 44 percent, said Amtrak CEO Joe Boardman, who attributed the growth as a result of "improved management and financial health."
Amtrak will set a new annual ridership record by the conclusion of fiscal year 2012, which ends September 30, Boardman said.
