St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - A 36 year old man is in jail this morning after he fled from Berkeley Police during an investigation Monday evening into a shooting incident.

Investigators say Berkeley officers were investigating a call for shots being fired when they spotted the man they were looking for and made a traffic stop to question the man.

While the officer was alongside the suspects SUV, the man sped away, running over a Berkeley officers foot in the process.

Additional officers then engaged the fleeing vehicle through the City of St. Louis, eventually stopping the SUV and nabbing the man in the 2600 block of Allen Avenue near Fox Park

St. Louis Police officers took custody of the man.  No other injuries were reported.

The identity of the injured Berkeley officer was not immediately released.
