Pike County, MO (KSDK) - The 5th and final inmate who escaped over the weekend from the Pike County Jail has been captured after a brief foot chase.

Sheriff Stephen Korte reports 40-year-old William John Thomas Wilkerson, Junior, of Florissant, was arrested after a report of a suspicious person at an apartment complex in the 11000 block of Oak Spur Ct. around 9:50 p.m. Tuesday. Authorities say there was a short foot pursuit before Wilkerson was captured.

St. Louis County police said officers searched the area and found a gun, which Wilkerson, Jr. claimed to have found since the escape.

Wilkerson, Jr. is one of five men who escaped from the Pike County Jail in Bowling Green, Missouri on Saturday. The group removed a shower head and crawled through an 11-inch hole to a service area. Three of the men were located Monday morning in Oklahoma. The fourth turned himself in Monday afternoon.
