St. Louis, MO (KSDK) - A St. Louis Metropolitan Police Officer was taken to an area hospital for evaluation after her patrol car was struck by another vehicle early Monday.
The unidentified officer was on patrol when she was stopped at the intersection of Arkansas and Arsenal in south St. Louis around 1:00 a.m. Investigators say the officer was not seriously hurt in the crash.
Another vehicle headed northbound on Arkansas failed to stop at the stop sign and slammed into the police car. That vehicle then bounced off the police vehicle onto a sidewalk. The two men inside the car got out and began running.
One of the fleeing men was arrested on Juniata within moments of the crash. The second man was arrested a short time after at an undisclosed location.
No names have been released and charges against the two men in custody are pending.
