CAMERON, Mo. (AP) - The pilot of an experimental plane has died while taking off from Cameron Municipal Airport in northwest Missouri.
Police say the plane crashed just before 7 p.m. Sunday. The name of the victim wasn't immediately released, pending notification of relatives.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Tony Molinaro says the JDT Mini-MAX was destroyed in the crash. The single-engine plane is made from a kit.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
