Troy, MO (KSDK) - An 18-year-old has been sentenced for killing an elderly Lincoln County couple in 2011.

Zacheriah Cain was charged with two counts of first-degree felony involuntary manslaughter after his vehicle hit an ATV driven by 81-year-old Victor K. Harrell and 82-year-old Virginia M. Harrell.

The Harrells were pronounced dead shortly after the May 22, 2011 accident.

Authorities say Cain was driving at a high rate of speed and was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.

Cain was sentenced Tuesday to the maximum sentence, a total of 14 years in prison.
