Sunset Hills, MO (KSDK) - A shooting that allegedly took place Tuesday in the parking lot of a south St. Louis County fast food restaurant was a hoax.
Police responded Tuesday to the Burger King in Sunset Hills Plaza after a 45-year-old man said he was shot three times during a struggle.
The man had told police a man with a gun came up behind him as he was walking toward the restaurant door and the two struggled before he was shot. The man was shot in the head, shin, and right thigh.
The man's wife drove him to an area hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the man admitted he was actually shot in Jennings, but did not disclose why the man chose the Sunset Hills Burger King as part of his story.
Circumstances surrounding the Jennings shooting are unclear.
