St. Louis (KSDK) - Is St. Louis Police Chief Dan Isom considering retirement?
That's the question KMOX reporter Kevin Killeen asked repeatedly following Wednesday's police board meeting. It's in response to an article in the St. Louis Evening Whirl which suggests Chief Isom has been exploring other job opportunities in the region.

[Killeen]: "Are you considering retirement is retirement in your future can you comment on that please?"
"I have a lot of work to do here as you can see we are focused on aggravated assaults so that's my main focus and we'll continue to focus on that," said Chief Isom.
[Killeen]: "If that's your main focus is there any consideration whatsoever of retirement in your near future?"
"I'm going to continue to work hard every day until the day I walk out of here my main focus is what I have to do today and not what is in the future. Who knows what our future is so I am working hard to make sure we're doing what we need to do to address crime in the City of St. Louis and to protect and serve the citizens of the City of St. Louis," said Chief Isom.
[Killeen]: "I have to note you don't come right out and say it's out of the question it's a false report. Is there anything to this, and is anyone suggesting you step down?"
"As I said, nobody knows what our future is around here, but my focus is making sure I'm addressing issues within the City of St. Louis," said Chief Isom.
Chief Isom has been chief since 2008, and has been with the department since 1988.
