Centreville, IL (KSDK) - A woman shot by Centreville police has been charged with domestic assault and resisting a peace officer.
The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. Monday in the 4700 block of Piggott while officers were investigating a domestic disturbance call at an apartment complex.
Officers say when they tried to arrest 24-year-old Tenesha Foughter, she resisted.
Foughter was shot while struggling with an officer. She was treated and released from an area hospital.
The officer who shot her is on administrative leave while Illinois State Police investigate.
