Jeannine Buford sentenced for selling fake Hermes purses

St. Louis (KSDK) -- A St. Louis woman was sentenced Thursday to nearly five years in prison for selling fake Hermes purses online.

The U.S. Attorney of Eastern Missouri said Jeannine Buford was sentenced to 57 months in prison and ordered to pay $255,500 in restitution.

Buford sold counterfeit purses from a manufacturer in China on three websites between January 2006 and October 2011.  The sites were, and

The FBI conducted an undercover operation and said Buford sold one of the purses to one of their agents.

Investigators estimate Buford did a half-a-million dollars in sales from March of 2010 through April 2011.

Buford pleaded guilty in June to one felony count of trafficking counterfeit goods.  As part of her earlier plea, she forfeited a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, 2012 Porsche Cayenne, $5,738 cash, and 16 miscellaneous designer handbags.
