Clayton, MO (KSDK) - More than a year after first admitting guilt to possession of child pornography in St. Louis County, a local attorney has finally been sentenced to concurrent five year prison terms for his crimes.

59 year old Larry Bauer of Kirkwood learned his punishment Thursday afternoon before Judge Robert Cohen who ordered a five year punishment on each of the five counts Bauer pleaded guilty to.

Last week's guilty plea by Bauer came after he was allowed to withdraw a previous guilty plea to the same charges in April 2011.

Part of the reason Bauer's sentencing was delayed for so long was due to a legal battle involving criminal cases against Bauer in State and Federal courts, and whether the Fifth Amendments clause regarding double jeopardy could be applied.

That question evolved after Bauer pleaded guilty to similar crimes in U.S. District Court in April 2010.

Bauer litigated for the Stinson, Morrison, and Hecker firm specializing in labor and employment law according to investigator who charged Bauer in 2008.
